There are different ways to access GarageBand on your Mac. You can access it through Applications in the Finder, by using the spotlight,
and through the Dock if it has been placed there.

1. Open up GarageBand and choose Podcast.

2. You will be asked to save your podcast immediately. Save it in your documents on the iMac.

3. Try recording your voice.

4. Try adding musical loops and sound effects.

In order to do so, select the lower half of the track in the edit window. Clicking the scissors button will bring this window up.

You can loop tracks within GarageBand so that you don't need to re-create or copy and paste your loops to have them repeat.
Place you moue pointer in the top right hand corner of the region you want to loop and drag the right edge along the timeline.

You will want to ensure that your loops are complete.
To prevent awkward transitions, be sure to complete your loop.
There are notches at both the top and bottom of each region, which represent one loop. Drage the region until you have completed the last loop.

6. Audio can be moved around from track to track and within a track.

7. You can adjust the volume in different ways.

9. If you need to record on another track it is always a good idea to mute all other tracks.
